The toughest question to answer...Why?

Why did Hurricane Katrina happen? Why are so many people still suffering and dying? Why? I just don't know. I sit here in my nice, cool home, watching the devastation on tv. When I think about all the people who now have nothing I am humbled more than I ever thought I could be. All I can do right now is pray. I can send money...what little I have. I wish I could go...go and help all those people. The images that are shown on tv are just horrifying and heartbreaking. I have thought about what I would do if my family had been there. How would we have survived? Again, I don't know.

Why don't we have more military personel there? Bush needs to send all military available to the area to help these people. I'm not talking about going and being the enforcers of the law. I'm talking about getting in there and getting these people out!! Where would they go? Bring them here. We have churches, large schools and government buildings that we can use to shelter these people!!! If you have ideas about how we can help, please share! My heart hurts when I think about everyone there who needs food and water. If it were me, I would want others to be thinking of me and trying to come up with ways they could help. Let's do the same.
