His promise.........Jeremiah 29:11

I live in Shelbyville, KY with my awesome husband, Tim, and our incredible 8 year old son, Joseph. I was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN and moved to the central KY area 15 years ago when Tim and I married on August 14, 1993. My time in KY has been a huge blessing in my life and I look forward to seeing where the Lord will lead me.

Summer is quickly approaching! Yay!!!

I'm excited about summer, actually. Joseph is done with school in 14 and a half days so that will be less driving for me. I'm not exactly sure how much more school Krissi has left. Franklin County missed several days due to snow so I'm guessing they have a few days to make-up. It probably won't be too bad, though, and I wouldn't imagine that they will go much longer than a week after TFCA. At least I hope not. I'm ready to start sleeping in a little!

Joseph has done rather well this year academically. One of his strongest subjects is spelling. He loves to spell (hence the high grade in spelling). However, he does not like math. He's just like his momma in that respect. He reads well, and can spout off dozens of verses from the Bible (which is good since they have had a memory verse every week). The subjects outside his regular classroom are also going well. PE, French, and Music seem to bring him enjoyment and therefore he does well in those areas. One of the funniest things this year has been to watch him play school with all of his stuffed animals. He brings them all out into the living room and lines them up in rows and then starts asking each of them what they are going to order for lunch, if they brought their folders back, and if they had their permission slips signed. It's pretty funny. I love it when he starts teaching them spelling. He's very patient with them which speaks well for his teachers. I have also been called Mrs. Cull numberous times this year. It's cute, actually.

As far as Joseph is concerned the month of June can't get here fast enough. We have had a little trouble lately getting him to understand that just because it is 80 degrees outside that does not mean that he gets to go over to Mrs. Vicki's pool and play. I believe this is his favorite part of summer. He is swimming well and I think he will have even more fun this year because he will be all over the pool, whereas in the past he has been required to stay in the shallow end. His class is going to The Pavilion in Georgetown on the 24th of this month for their final day of school. They will swim for most of the day and then have awards that night. I know that he is going to absolutely LOVE that field trip. It's going to be an exciting day.
