His promise.........Jeremiah 29:11

I live in Shelbyville, KY with my awesome husband, Tim, and our incredible 8 year old son, Joseph. I was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN and moved to the central KY area 15 years ago when Tim and I married on August 14, 1993. My time in KY has been a huge blessing in my life and I look forward to seeing where the Lord will lead me.

My current life in a nutshell (or a long post)

I thought I would go ahead and update everyone on what's been going on in my life. I haven't done this in a while so hopefully this will help everyone catch up.

The Mr. and I have been attending trainging classes the last 5 Saturdays in order that we might adopt from the state of Kentucky. Initially we hated the idea of going to these classes. They were 6 hours long and seemed to us like they might be boring. Thankfully, this was not the case. It wasn't my favorite way to spend my Saturdays, but it was good stuff. I would suggest this class to any parent or anyone thinking about being a parent. It helped us to make our final decision that we are definitely going to adopt a female teenager. Sound crazy? You have no idea...

Joseph only has 3 days of school left this year and I'm excited about it being summer. I miss my little boy when he's gone. It will be good to have him home again. His class is going to the Louisville Zoo this Thursday. I'm not looking forward to that. I hate going to the zoo. Kids seem to like it, though. Why I have no clue.

Krissi went to prom this past Saturday and she looked great! She got her hair done in an up-do and the lady did a nice job on it. Her dress looked great and she looked great on the arm of her date. It was fun to see her so excited about something and having fun. We got to meet Jimmy's parents (Jimmy was her date, by the way) and they were SUPER nice and lot of fun to talk to.
I will put some pictures on here as soon as I get them loaded.

Joseph went swimming yesterday for the first time this season and he was so happy about it. Ms. Vicki (a good friend of ours from church) invited us to come over. They have a great pool and a great house in the country. There were lots of people there so we all had a great time. Joseph stayed in the water for over 2 hours and I sat on the side with a few of my friends just talking and have a relaxing time. I've need this so bad! I've been stressed out about the house and other stuff so it was good to get away. I did get a pretty bad burn on my legs (very typical for me), but the pain is starting to subside and I should be good as new by tomorrow afternoon.

Church at The Point was AWESOME yesterday. It was hectic, but good. The sermon was really good and there were a lot of people who were touched by the whole thing. The song set went very well with the message so that helped everyone to worship fully. It was so moving for a lot of people. I was crying at the end of the service and pretty much so was everyone else. After the service we had a potluck lunch and it was great food. Then the kids went out and jumped on a few bouncers and at about 1:30 we went home. It was a great day! If you want to learn more about The Point just go to our website. There is a lot of information and you can even listen to some sermons and songs. It's definitely worth your time!

After trying to sell our house by ourselves for the last two months we decided it was time to bring in a professional. Last night we hooked up with Mike and Vicki Barnes from Century 21. We are excited about this for several reasons. First, Mike and Vicki are two very good friends of ours. Second, we know how hard they work and we know they will work hard for us. Third, with the market like it is these days it definitely helps to use an agent (or two if you can get a team) to help you sell. I think that they are as excited about this venture as we are (at least I hope so). We have a great house, in an awesome neighborhood, and now we are listed with excellent agents with a fabulous company. What more could we ask for?
