His promise.........Jeremiah 29:11

I live in Shelbyville, KY with my awesome husband, Tim, and our incredible 8 year old son, Joseph. I was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN and moved to the central KY area 15 years ago when Tim and I married on August 14, 1993. My time in KY has been a huge blessing in my life and I look forward to seeing where the Lord will lead me.

My favorite christian artist

I thought that I would let you all know about my absolute favorite christian artist - Sara Groves. This chick is awesome!! I discovered her about 3 years ago and I have been in awe of her ever since. She is both a singer and a songwriter (something that nowadays is not real common), but she is more importantly a child of God, as well as, a wife and a mother. I have provided a link to her website. Please visit it...you will not be sorry. She is touring with Fernado Ortega and Bebo Norman which in my opinion just gives her more credibility. Her songs have touched my heart so often and I have sung a few of her songs at Crestwood Baptist (link also provided). I hope that you all will take note of this great talent and get her album. Her new album will be out this Fall. Also, for the month of May, Sara is on the cover of Homelife, which you can pick up at church, and there is an excellent article about her life as an artist and wife and mother. Take time to click around her website. There are some wonderful articles she has written that I know will bless your heart.

I have to start somewhere

Well, I have never done this before. A lot of my friends are doing this, and I thought it would be cool to join the crowd. The problem is...I don't really have anything to say. Now, I know what some of you are thinking...that can't be right...she always has something to say. HAHA! I guess the joke is on me now. Is it right to be scared of a blog? Actually, I'm more scared of doing or saying something stupid, but, then again, that is nothing new.

I suppose I should let you in on why I chose the title "His promise". My favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." I just know in my heart that God is leading me. At the moment I have no idea where I'm going, but I have an awesome leader. So many times God has promised to do right by me, and I have to say, to this day he has kept his word. I have messed up MANY times, but God has always been there for me and I know he always will be. It is my hope that all of you will discover the peace of knowing God is leading you, even if you have no idea where you're going.
