His promise.........Jeremiah 29:11

I live in Shelbyville, KY with my awesome husband, Tim, and our incredible 8 year old son, Joseph. I was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN and moved to the central KY area 15 years ago when Tim and I married on August 14, 1993. My time in KY has been a huge blessing in my life and I look forward to seeing where the Lord will lead me.

I hate playing tag....except when I know I'll win.

I have been tagged. Thanks a lot Rew! Gosh...I first heard about this the other day as I was reading someone else's blog. I remember secretly praying that I would not have this happen to me. Now I know that God is laughing at me and waiting to see what I tell others about myself.

So I am apparently now obligated to tell all those out there who are faithful to my blog what things about me are weird that no one else knows. Of course, most of these people already know everything about me, and know that I'm not really one to shy away from telling people my weird ways, but I'm going to give it a shot. Hopefully this won't be too boring for anyone.

1. I hate talking on the phone. I know...I'm a girl and I'm supposed to be naturally drawn to this behavior, but honestly I just don't like it. Why? I really think that people on the other end are not listening to me. Of course, that's mostly because my mind wanders when I'm supposed to be listening so I assume that other people have the same problem. I also take great pride in my writing and feel like I can express myself better with this form of communication. Yep...I'm one of those horrible people who would rather communicate by email and text messages or face to face. Sorry folks. It's the truth.

2. I want to write a book. The subject?...good question. I have no idea...I just really want to do this.

3. Without question I absolutely MUST sleep on the side of the bed that is furthest from the door. If someone comes in I want my strong, burly husband to protect me and keep me from harm. Oddly enough, if I'm on a trip without him, but sleep in the same bed with someone else, I have the same demand (passive aggressively, of course) so that if someone comes in during the night they will be killed first. Again...sorry folks. I'm selfish this way.

4. I have an occasional country music fetish. There are just times when I must listen to country music and watch CMT for the videos. And to accompany this I have a MAJOR crush on Josh Turner and Dierks Bentley. It's ok...my Mr. knows all about it. ;)

5. One thing that is weird even to me is my accent. I know that most of you in KY would say that I don't have an accent because I sound just like you, but if you could hear me when I talk to my parents or visit my family in TN/GA then you would know exactly what I mean by this because my true G.R.I.T.S.ness (that's Girl Raised In The South for those of you out of the loop) comes out and I am exposed as an accent fraud! And, while we are on the subject of the South I feel I must express something very important...there is a secret to making good tea. Tea should always, that's ALWAYS people!, be made with sugar. That's right...I'm talkin' about sweet iced tea for you Yankee's. No matter what anyone says tea is no good if it comes "unsweetened". You cannot, I repeat...CANNOT, "add" sugar to tea after the fact. No...it doesn't work! Sugar must dissolve, during the heating process, and then (and only then) you have proper tea. Whew! I'm glad I got that off my chest.

6. This last one is majorly embarrassing, but I don't care...I'm confident in who I am. :) When I was younger I loved listening to the Barbara Streisand Christmas album. (Quick side note...does anyone else out there think it's weird that this Jewish woman put out an album with Ave Maria and the Lord's Prayer on it? Maybe it's just me...but I love it just the same.) I still like listening to it, but I was really into it when I was in my teenage years. The worst part...I made up a dance routine to Jingle Bells (an extremely jazzy version for those who haven't heard it)! HAHAHA! Sadly...I think I still remember the dance. Oh gosh...that's just funny right there.

I think that's all I'm obligated to do. If I think of others then I will post them when it's appropriate. And, to answer Rew's question...I don't know why I haven't blogged in a long time. Just haven't. I should start doing this again...I mean...I must be loyal to my adoring fans. HA! Hope this satisfies some until the next post.

By the way...Kari, my dear, tag...you're it!
