His promise.........Jeremiah 29:11

I live in Shelbyville, KY with my awesome husband, Tim, and our incredible 8 year old son, Joseph. I was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN and moved to the central KY area 15 years ago when Tim and I married on August 14, 1993. My time in KY has been a huge blessing in my life and I look forward to seeing where the Lord will lead me.

I bow to the master (of Dr. Pepper beverages that is)

I have found a site of someone who has truly tasted more types of Dr. Pepper knock-offs than I can ever hope to. I am truly in awe!

I'm sure you all will be just as amazed as I am. Kari...can you believe this? We have got to get our hands some of this stuff! ;)

For those who are worried...my true Master...my Lord and Savior is, and will forever be, Jesus Christ. I love saying that. God rocks!!!

The Taste Tests Continue

Yesterday during a shopping spree with Krissi and Joseph I purchased a new beverage (well...new to me) in order to continue the not-so-blind taste tests for the firm of McGrath and Chase. The beverage...Dr. M. The result...well...not pretty...

I was drawn to this drink simply because of the name and it's possible real-thing offerings. I was disappointed...to say the least. My first tip should have been the name. The off brands that claim to taste like Dr. Pepper, but which have an initial for a last name have proven themselves to be less than a good quality. Dr. K and Dr. M hold nothing for me. Here's what I learned about Dr. M:

Carbonation: I was surprised at the simplicity of the carbonation this beverage held. It opened with a decent "tschk", but the sound was just not strong enough. I immediately thought this can might contain flat contents, but it didn't. To my surprise it was the heavy syrup that kept the carbonation to a minimum. Grade = 2

Smell: The scent of Dr M was pleasing (for those who like the smell of the one true Dr Pepper) so I had high hopes for the taste. Grade = 8

Taste: This is where the carbonation and syrup ratio ruined it for me. As previously mentioned the syrup was WAY too high and therefore the overall taste was not desireable. Grade = 3

Aftertaste: Surprisingly not that bad. Thus, I was able to take a few more sips before throwing out the rest of the cans contents. This portion of the test is very important. Does the beverage leave a subtle, yet good aftertaste which leaves you wanting more? Possibly it causes your taste buds to scream in horror which then makes your eyes water and your brain to tell you to immediately throw out the said beverage. Or does it lack much of an aftertaste at all, causing your tastebuds to say, "um...what just happened here? I can't remember"? The later was the case with Dr. M which lead to the next fateful sips. Grade = 5

All in all...Dr. M did not do that well...final grade (drum roll please...) 4.5. Not horrible, but not something I would recommend.

Have a great holiday and always give gift of ultimate taste...Dr. Pepper.
