His promise.........Jeremiah 29:11

I live in Shelbyville, KY with my awesome husband, Tim, and our incredible 8 year old son, Joseph. I was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN and moved to the central KY area 15 years ago when Tim and I married on August 14, 1993. My time in KY has been a huge blessing in my life and I look forward to seeing where the Lord will lead me.

Airplane Day 2008

Every year since March 3rd, 2001 we have celebrated Airplane Day. It's our way of remembering one of the greatest days of our lives...the day that Joseph came home with us to Kentucky. For dinner each year we go out to eat at Tony Roma's with Betty and Jerry (who traveled with us to Thailand) and then go shopping at Joseph Beth. It's always lots of fun. We have been so blessed with Joseph and I can never express how much he means to me.

I still remember the very long, exhausting flights we took from Bangkok to Louisville. In the course of 27 hours in horribly cramped quarters I was peed on, spit up on, and had to change the worst explosive diaper in history. Needless to say, I was not an attractive woman when I stepped off that plane, but I was happy. I finally had a child. One to call my own. A son. A beautiful baby boy who would be raised in a loving home and be surrounded by people who will always love him. And now...7 years later...I get to stay at home with Joseph and watch him grow and learn. It's an amazing gift.

The best part of Airplane Day 2008 was a series of conversations I had with Joe about God, and the gift of salvation. It was precious and I will never forget the moment when our sharing our faith with our son began to sink in and Joe realized what it means to believe in Christ. Praise God for His love for us and for blessing us far more than we deserve.
